Sunflowers vs. Roses

Farryn: "Mama, when are you gonna get married again?"

Me: "I'm already married to Jesse, why would I marry someone else?"

Farryn: "Because...he always gives you Sunflowers and those aren't my favowite, you need to marry someone who will give you roses....PINK ONES!"

;) Hopefully one day she'll realize flowers are flowers, they are great to get no matter what kind they are! Unless she finds a guy who knows her "favowite" are PINK ROSES!!

I love ORKIES!

I've been wanting a little dog for a while now, a non-shedding cute little lap dog. Probably the last thing I really need right now but with Farryn starting school in the fall and Charlye Girl being home with me I thought a little dog would be fun for her to play with since our big labradoodle could really care less...about anything! He just lays around, Charlye climbs all over him and he takes it but you can tell half the time he's just miserable. A small dog might give him a little break from all the torture so I have my heart set on a Yorkie! My best friends mother is a breeder so we've decided the next litter we'll hopefully take one of the available puppies depending on how many she ends up having. I probably opened my mouth too soon but now all Farryn can talk about is her future "ORKIE!" She cannot wait until we have the "tutest lil orkie to dress up in tute tu-tu's and bows!" I hear about it constantly now! While giving her a bath today the following conversation occured....

Farryn: "So, Mama, what are we gonna name our Orkie?"
Me: "I don't know...how about Macy?"
Farryn: "Um....No."
Me: "Okay...how about Barbie" (hoping she would agree so the conversation could end.)
Farryn: "YEAH! Or STRIPPER!!!"
Me: "WHAT?"
Farryn: "STRIPPER...you know Mama, Barbie's lil sister!"
Me: (now laughing) "You mean SKIPPER...right!?"
Farryn: (dead serious expression) "Um....that's what I said MOM! STRIPPER!"

So now we are patiently waiting for our Orkie, Stripper. ;)

Charlye's 1st conversation...ever!

We've been working on saying "thank you!" and "welcome!" with Charlye. So when I put her down for bed and give her a sippy cup she usually says "Dink ya MAW". Today I'm laying her down and I start talking to her like I normally do and the following conversation happened. Now keep in mind she's only 18 months old....so this was my 1st conversation with her, EVER!

Me: "Are you ready for a nap? I think you are, you look sleepy!"

Charlye: "OOOHHH NOOOO!!!"

Me: "What? You don't want to take a nap?"

Charlye: "NO! NO! NO!"

Me: "Well you need to Charlye, you'll be grumpy, do you want your sippy?"

Charlye: "Yea-YUM!"

Me: "Yum!?!"

Charlye "Dink you Maw!"

Me: "Welcome"

Charlye: "Weltome!"

Me: "Love you sweet girl!"

Charlye: "Love ya Maw!"

Me: "Did you just say Love ya Ma?"

Charlye: "Yea...BYYYYEEE!!" She pulled the cover up over her and rolled over to go to sleep. :) I remember just getting excited for her to say one or two words let alone sentences!

Good night!

Farryn: "Member Mama, don't forget to say your prayers before you go to sleep!"

Me: "Okay Farryn, and remember don't forget to say your prayers too...pray for the little girl who doesn't have any toys!" (We use "the little girl who doesn't have any toys" as an example for those who are less fortunate...she's four years old so she doesn't really understand other than that.)

Farryn: (Pausing for a minute to think about what I just said...) "Well, actually, I think I'm gonna pray just for myself tonight. Good night Mama!

Because I'm a woman! (Part 2)

Getting ready for bed I go into her room to tuck her in.

Farryn: "Ah-ha! Gotcha you tupid lil fly!"

Me: "Oh Farryn, thats not a fly! Thats a mosquito hawk, they are good! You know those little mosquitos that bite you and leave those itchy bumps? Well these little guys eat those nasty lil bugs so they can't hurt you. They are like the mosquito police! Don't squash them okay Farryn."

Farryn: "Oh no, I didn't know that Mama. I'm sorry...but this one wasn't a good one, he was a bad mosq haux. You see sometimes there are good ones and sometimes here are bad ones. Just like dinosaurs, people... police men. (I look at her a little baffled) You know this Mama! Sometimes there are bad police men who pull you over when you don't do nothing wrong and sometimes there are good police men who catch the mean guys! They put their arms like this (imaginary handcuffs go on) and then they put them in the police cars and they take em to jail so those mean people don't hurt us!"

(Still baffled)
Me: "How do you know all this?"

Farryn: "Because I'm a woman!"

I know everything!

Farryn has been bugging me constantly for another dog. We have a labradoodle named Cullen, he should be enough but Farryn is having a Noah's Ark complex...two of everything! "Mama Cullen needs a girlfwiend! See this dog here (pointing to her book) this here is a good dog girl for Cullen. We should get this dog when we wake up from our naps. How that be?" I've said it over and over, "Our house just isn't big enough for a zoo! A dog, a fish and a stinky guinea pig is just enough!" Her response, "Well make the house big, feed it veg-a-tables make it really tall and big and strong and we will have plenty of woom! I know this, I know everything Mom...because I'm a woman!"

"Life's a garden...Dig it!"

Farryn: "Mama I wanna watch Doe Dirt!"

Me: "Doe? Are you sure its Doe Dirt Farryn and not JOE Dirt?"

Farryn: "Yeah, that movie that says (in her best crazy, unstable man impersonation) IT PUTS THE LOTION ON ITS SKIN!"
